Hello everyone, That is if anyone is reading this. I just wanted to post that my name is Bracey, though it wasn't named after your town. I live in New York, and I have been meaning to drive down and see what a place like Bracey is like. More than likely I'll come down this summer, not that anyone will care. I just thought I'd share.

It can't be that many Bracey's that aren't kin. Do you know where your family came from and if they were French or Irish??

I hope you will come down to Bracey. When you're down, be sure to get directions to see "old Bracey." I think that Braceys came to America from England, but they went to England from France. About the time of the Norman Conquest. There's 2 websites you might want to check: For Bracey genealogy: freepages.family.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~eddunn/bracey/index.htmand For genealogy of several families including Bracey, for history of Bracey, VA, and for old photos: www.sttammanyfarm.comNote: The town of St. Tammany (VA) was incorporated in 1792 and a post office was established in 1798. In 1900 the post office of St. Tammany was renamed Bracey. Welcome to Virginia!
